Assistant Professor
Biography :

My research focuses on studying cryosphere (e.g., permafrost, lake ice, and snow) and groundwater processes using near-surface geophysical methods, including ground penetrating radar (GPR), transient electromagnetics (TEM), electrical resistivity tomography (ERT), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and seismic reflection and refraction. It also includes field observations, laboratory measurements, remote sensing, and numerical modeling.

I am actively recruiting graduate students to join my research group in Fall 2024. If you are interested, please contact me at rrangel@es.utoronto.ca.
