Keevil/Finlay President’s Fellowship in Geology

The fellowships are designated for outstanding students who intend to take their expertise to developing nations upon completion of graduate studies in Geology at the University of Toronto. Preference will be given to students whose birth place is in a developing nation. A list of countries that are considered for the purpose of the fellowships are listed below. Candidates must also meet the admission criteria for graduate studies in Geology within the School or Graduate Studies at the U of T.

Each highly competitive fellowship covers the full cost of study through the M.Sc. or Ph.D. graduate program. For the 2016/17 academic year this included a base stipend, tuition, fees and health insurance (UHIP) coverage for a total scholarship value of $42,445. This fellowship is guaranteed for four years of study for doctoral research programs or one/two years for M.Sc./M.A.Sc. programs.

To apply, candidates should submit a regular application for graduate study in the Department of Earth Sciences, following the instructions found here: https://www.es.utoronto.ca/programs/graduate/how-to-apply. In addition, they should submit to the Graduate Administrator (grad@es.utoronto.ca) a 1-page statement of intent outlining their plans for work/study in a developing nation upon graduation.
